Lesson Plan: The Cell - Grade Ten - Grade 10
Summary:The lesson is designed to teach students the basics of cell biology. Students will create informative books for middle school students, or construct a cell model displaying and detailing cell morphology and function.

Benchmark: A. Explain that cells are the basic unit of structure and function of living organisms, that once life originated all cells come from pre-existing cells, and that there are a variety of cell types.
Indicator: 2. Compare the structure, function and interrelatedness of cell organelles in eukaryotic cells (e.g., nucleus, chromosome, mitochondria, cell membrane, cell wall, chloroplast, cilia, flagella) and prokaryotic cells.
